A few weeks ago, I watched a video of Bill Hader discussing his struggle with anxiety, and what he might tell his younger self if he got the chance. It made me consider what future me might say if she could see me right now. The problem with anxiety is that little problems can make you feel like your world is coming to end. The truth is, these problems are very rarely life-altering, and they are often things that we can look back upon and laugh. To teach myself this, I have started journaling when I am feeling anxious. That way, when I have calmed down, I can look back and see that the problem that seemed so scary ended up working out. I know it’s not the same, but in some ways it feels like I am talking to my younger self. I would strongly suggest this strategy for all of you guys! All you need is a piece of paper and a pen!
